Friday Night

What a great day! First we packed up at the camp and headed out on the bus to the Christ statue.  We took a long train ride way up to the top of the mountain where the view was incredible and we took lots of photos. We even saw a monkey. After riding back down on the train, we drove to an all-you-can-eat Brazilian BBQ where we absolutly stuffed ourselves on beef, chicken hearts, capybara, chicken, sausage, fried bananas, french fries, and all sorts of other healthy food. And we finished off with an amazing marshmellowy custard, yummy thing.
Then we headed to the beach for a few minutes and then went off to our host homes for the weekend.  We´ll meet back up tomorrow night at one of the churches for a pre-camp celebration and some music and testimonies. Everyone´s got different things planned with their host families over the weekend, so there will be lots of stories to share.
Thanks for all your continued prayers and encouraging comments.

  1. Thanks for posting the pictures, Jeff - they are so fun to see! What an amazing experience to get to go up to see the Jesus statue - and I was so happy to see Danae standing right close to Him. :) The menu at the BBQ place sounds very interesting.....some of the items you mentioned may explain why Gabe looks like he's not feeling so well at the moment. (my guess is it was the chicken heart or capybara... I hope you're ok, Gabe:)
Our prayers continue to be with you all as you visit with your host families. Have a wonderful time, and we look forward to hearing what God is doing through all of you. Love to all (especially Danae:)

  4. I agree with everyone else the picture high above Brazil by the Christ statue are breath taking. The camp looks great too. I am not sure I would eat something I couldn't pronounce, but the rest sounds good. Have a blessed Sunday. Prayer, blessings, and love to you all. Colby's Nana---

It looks like you are having an amazing time in Brazil. We are praying for you guys and love you a lot. Just remember what Mama Kauffman said, if anything looks like fun, don't touch it.
